Figo: reportedly likes clubbing on Quayside
The most unlikely is that Sir Bobby will make a bid for Luis Figo in the summer, after the Real Madrid star admitted he was interested in playing in England.

Figo reportedly said: "For me, I want to play in the English championship.

"I adore the atmosphere that is breathed in their game."

So throw in the fact that Sir Bobby has worked with the Portuguese midfielder before and a rumour is born.

The story that French international Philippe Christanval is on his way to Tyneside has resurfaced after reports in Spain suggested that Barcelona are looking to offload the defender and team mates Fabio Rochenback and Dani, in order to ease their financial problems.

Closer to home many of the papers have carried stories that suggesting that long time target Michael Bridges is on his way to Nottingham Forest, together with his Leeds colleague David Batty.

And it is only a matter of time before we are linked with re-signing top t-shirt wearer Lee Clark after he said that he was considering leaving Fulham.

"I have spoken to the manager and he realises my position and respects that I just want to play football," said Clark.

"If the opportunity arises come January, and things still have not changed, then I will be looking to pastures new.

"I have just turned 30 and might only have five or six years left in the game. I don't want to spend most of it sitting on the bench. But if the manager calls on me I will be there and will give my best."

Sunderland are thought to be unlikely to re-sign the midfielder.
