Kinnear Scare Was Only A Chest Cold!

The 62-year-old had only caught a chest cold and is still expected to be at Stoke on April 11 or the visit to Tottenham a week later.

Caretaker-manager Chris Hughton: "The indications are - and I haven't heard anything different to that - that he would return round about the Stoke or Spurs games.

"But we will all be guided by the experts in that field, and more so one person himself, and that's Joe.

"That's where we are at the moment. Whether that changes or not, we will find out.

"Joe is still in that period where his rehabilitation has gone very well.

"But he has had big surgery and there are days when he is better than other days."
As we reported last week, claims that Terry Venables could be drafted in amid fears Hughton and coach Colin Calderwood are not up to the task, have been rubbished by the club.

We soldier on with the pair of duffers ... no matter how deep the crisis gets ... or so Mike Ashley tells us.

Connections with old Spurs has-beens will continue to surface, as Ashley is a Spurs fan, and we have three of the buggers already dragging us into the shit (Kinnear, Hughton and Calderwood).

Expect the likes of Venables, Glenn Hoddle, David Pleat, George Graham, Ossie Ardiles and Peter Shreeves to be linked with the job.
