Keegan Reluctant To Let Defender Go!

Argyle manager Paul Sturrock is the latest to have picked up on the "unrest" and has asked about taking the player on loan.

The Pilgrims are one of three Championship clubs to have inquired about Edgar, according to his agent.

Ipswich Town and Norwich City, who are managed by former Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder, are also interested in the Canada under-20 international.

Edgar, still a close friend of ex-Newcastle defender Paul Huntington, has seen how his mate is enjoying life with Leeds United after the youngster demanded first team football or a move.

The problem seems to come from recent first team results when Stephen Carr has been struggling, on the left and the right of defence, and (from what we hear) Edgar believes he should be given a chance.

But Magpies' chief Kevin Keegan is reluctant to let any players leave St James' Park at the moment.

Edgar has made five first team appearances for Newcastle, but only one of them has come this season.

That was when he was a late substitute in a 2-0 home win against Barnsley in the Carling Cup second round in August.

But making noises at this stage of his career is not going to impress the Toon manager.
