Keegan: 'A Burden We Can Do Without'!

Kevin Keegan: "This team has not scored for four Premiership games and confidence is not where it should be. Until we change those stats it's a burden, not just personally but for the team.

"We want to finish the season well, to win games and show our fans next season can be something special, to see the club take off. That's the job now.

"Let's find out exactly what we have got at this club in next 14 games. I can't promise players they're going to run out at Wembley or play in Europe so I think that's a test for us.

"I wouldn't say they're on trial but I think at a club, every training session, every game a player has the chance to show what he's got.

"It's a test of character. I can't say to the players, 'Come on we can finish in seventh or eighth place', although we probably would if we went unbeaten until the end of season.

"But in reality, our season is now just about how high we can finish. We're a small squad and it's also about how close we can get as a group and get the very best out of ourselves. That's the challenge.

"We understand where we are. Our season has to start on Sunday. It's a big, big game for us."
