But Sunderland boss Roy Keane has hit out saying there is no need for the 'hangers-on'.

Keane: "Newcastle have lots of people on board. But the danger is that you can go too far and players can become dependent on them.

"If they don't play well it gives them an excuse.

"We have our coaching staff, fitness people and dietician - but that's it."

The Newcastle Manager Sam Allardyce is to join a panel of some of the games leading coaches, including Sir Alex Ferguson discussing how to maximise playing talent.

During his tenure with Bolton Wanderers, Allardyce became a champion of the latest techniques in coaching, player conditioning, psychology and match analyse. Never afraid to seek out new ideas from across the globe, many Premiership managers have looked on with interest to the techniques employed by Allardyce.

Allardyce will be joined on the panel by among others Sir Alex Ferguson and Howard Wilkinson.

Allardyce: "Football has undergone something of a technological revolution in recent years. I have been able to work hard with companies such as Prozone to help ensure that our players are best prepared when they take to the field.
"There are plenty of new ideas on how to maximise a players talents and I am looking forward to discussing these at the 'Future of Football' Conference"

The conference will take place at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London on the Tuesday 20 November.
