Having recovered from a broken shoulder bone suffered on international duty, the Argentina winger is available for Monday's visit of Manchester City to St James's Park.

Jonas Gutiérrez: "I do not regret moving here to Newcastle at all.

"It was a surprise what happened with Kevin Keegan and I was sad to see him go. The results were going well so it was surprise that the manager left but we are players and we must play well for Joe now.

"I like Joe, he is a good manager and I think he will help us to get out of the bottom three. We should not be there because we are a better team than
that. We shouldn't think about the past, we have to think about the future and getting up the Premier League table.

"I have only thought about football since I have been here. I don't really understand what has happened at the club and it is difficult to talk about it. I prefer to only think about the football and nothing more, because I do not know about the reasons for the changes.

"I am enjoying it very much. I love the city, I love the place and it is ideal for me. I know that I have come to a big team and I want to be here for a long time.

"I think he is a great boss. We have to listen to him, to do what he wants and to be with him as long as he is here.

"We don't know what will happen but for us it would be very good if we had a manager until the end of the season. It's good for the team to have a manager that will finish the season but we don't know what will happen. What I have to do is play football and play as well as I can for the manager that we have now.

"I have been made to feel very welcome by the supporters.

"They are very important for us - we need them to be with us.

"I have said that since I've been here the fans are fantastic - we go to Manchester, they are there and wherever we go they are there. It has been frustrating and it is even worse when you have just started with a football club. But it happened and I am thinking only about the future now. I just want to play again and hopefully I won't have another problem like this."
