Speaking to the Chronicle, the right-back touched on what the powerful midfielder will bring to the Magpies.
Daryl Janmaat: "He’s a good player and he likes to be on the ball and he’s good offensively.
"But he is also strong and can help defensively, so he’s quite a (versatile) player. He can play a couple positions, so he can be a good contributor for the team.
“He’s a good guy. I know him well and he really wants to work hard - he could be good for us.”
A midfield three of Wijnaldum, Colback and Sissoko looks to have the makings of a great combination, and the 24-year old has all the tools to become the Magpies' main man next season.
