Sunderland lost 2-0 to a very poor Birmingham side to make it ten consecutive Premiership defeats and mathematically seal their relegation.

With a weak squad which will have to be broken up to secure the club’s financial future and a manager with a very average record at club level, it is difficult to see the Mackems coming back up to the Premiership next season.

Big Ron inadvertently explained why their season has been so bad on The Premiership, when asked which of Sunderland’s players could be sold to ease the financial pressures at the club he struggled to name anyone other than Kevin Phillips.

Then blurted out Kevin Kilbane’s name!
