Is West Ham A Lesson To Newcastle?

... should we look at the mess West Ham are in to give us a warning that everything in the garden may NOT be rosy if there was a takeover?

Better the devil you know?

New West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson has hardly changed the fortunes at Upton Park. In fact, he today made the statement West Ham must leave Upton Park if they are to develop into one of the top six clubs in English football.

Magnusson's original plans to move West Ham into the new Olympic Stadium after the London 2012 Games have fallen through and forced him to examine other options.

Magnusson: "We are fully committed to taking the club forward and making West Ham United one of the top six clubs in England.

"Internally we have a new business plan to restructure all aspects of the club's off-field activities.

"We are also examining the possibility of a stadium move to continue growing the club and enable the huge fan base we have to support us in a state-of-the-art facility."

West Ham are embroiled in a desperate fight against relegation and it certainly puts our position into persective

West Ham will today "vigorously" defend itself against Premier League charges relating to the signings of Tevez and Javier Mascherano. They stand accused of breaking the rule which forbids the ownership of players by a third party and of failing to provide correct documentation.

The maximum penalty if West Ham are found guilty is a points deduction, which could all but confirm their relegation from the Premiership.
The hearing is expected to last two days.
