If you were manager - would you put Jonjo Shelvey back in the team?
Rafa Benitez has been restrained with Shelvey.
Punishment has been administered behind closed doors but he’s hardly dressed the midfielder down in public, even if he might have been disappointed at the way Shelvey failed to learn from his previous errors and got drawn into an altercation with Dele Alli which ultimately cost United on their opening day,
Mikel Merino’s promising debut suggested Shelvey’s absence might not be the disaster it was last season but let’s not forget how important the one-time England man can be.
It’s to be expected that Shelvey will be back in the XI that lattempts to get something from Swansea.
Personally, I would play Shelvey AND Merino.
