Inter win as Barca earn draw

Inter won the home leg of their tie against Valencia 1-0 thanks to a first-half Christian Vieri header, but in an unsurprisingly ill tempered game both sides had a player dismissed after the break.

David Albelda went for the visitors and the ever-cheating Emre for Inter after a melee following a minor foul on the Turk.

Valencia’s home record is outstanding, as Arsenal fans will testify, and there is still a great chance of Inter being knocked out.

Our more sporting former opponents Juventus and Barcelona played out a 1-1 draw in Turin.

Juve opened the scoring in the first half through Paolo Montero, but a deflected Javier Saviola shot was enough to give Barca an equaliser and the advantage going into the second leg.
