Inter fined for crowd trouble

The Milan giants have been fined 70,000 Swiss Francs (£32,500) for a series of missile throwing incidents.

UEFA’s press release confirmed that the fine was because "a continuous shower of missiles was thrown onto the pitch and into the section with English supporters, and Bengal lights were set-off by the Italian fans".

No mention of the racist abuse given to Titus Bramble, although UEFA obviously don’t take that too seriously as Valencia were fined just £9,250 for the abuse their fans directed at Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry.

Vieira though was fined £2,300 for accusing UEFA of not being tough enough on clubs whose fans habitually racially abuse opposition players.

Madness.
