Inter bounce back

Inter bounced back from last week’s thrashing by Juventus with a 2-1 win at Bologna.

Alvaro Recoba opened the scoring in the tenth minute before the home side had Carlo Nevro sent off and then equalised through Julio Cruz.

But with six minutes remaining Recoba popped up to clinch all three points.

Barcelona could only draw 1-1 against Real Valladolid in the Nou Camp, with Luis Enrique limping off after straining a hamstring.

Both goals were scored in the wrong net, Torres Gomez inadvertently giving Barca a first-half lead before Roberto Bonano punched the ball into his own goal to level the scores.

It’s not often that I feel much sympathy for Germans but Bayer Leverkusen were on the end of another hiding, going down 3-0 at Bayern Munich.

Giovane Elber scored twice after Claudio Pizarro's opener to leave Leverkusen just a point above the Bundesliga relegation zone.
