Injury Fears Continue To Dog Dyer

We all know Dyer's career has been hit by injury after injury, and he hoped to put it all behind him.

But he missed the poor 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth last weekend and there were fears inside and outside the United camp that Dyer was facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines after he limped off against Arsenal with a hamstring problem.

The England international missed virtually the entire campaign last season with a similar problem, although the latest setback was not in the same leg as the previous injury.

The 28-year-old was not risked against Pompey but he has trained this week and is expected to feature against Chelsea.

Dyer will replace Charles N'Zogbia in the starting line up after the young Frenchman was given a severe dressing down by Roeder at half-time during the defeat at Fratton Park. And it will be interesting to see if the Frenchman even makes the bench, after saying he will be leaving the club in the summer.

Meanwhile, Parker and Sibierski are also expected to feature against the reigning Premiership champions as Roeder looks to change things after the defeat at Portsmouth which has all but ended United's chance of qualifying for the Uefa Cup next season.

Portsmouth followed equally woeful away day results at Charlton, Wigan and Fulham this season, Roeder desperately needs a good performance to end the season on a high.
