Hull Couldn't Afford WARREN Barton ... Never Mind JOEY Barton!

Newcastle are keen to offload the 27-year-old, we all know that, but the pack who will be relegation fodder next season (Blackburn, Birmingham and Hull) want him ... but don't have the money to pay his £60,000 per week wages ... never mind the £3m asking price.

Hull's top player is allegedly on £100 and a box of fags a week. Or somwhere close to that figure.
Hull are anxious to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season but so far have made a lot of noise about signing "top internationals", obviously encouraging season ticket sales, but will probably sign a couple of 'has-beens' from League Two.

Assistant manager Brian Horton said: "No we are not interested.

"Joey Barton is a very good footballer. I know him, I have done things with him in Manchester.

"He has obviously had issues and that is a shame because he can be a very good footballer but at this present time I don't think it's an area that really needs to be looked at."
