Hugo has been recuperating in Portugal after the operation and is expected to be out for another couple of months.
Sir Bobby played down the significance of the visit, commenting: "Hugo is coming back to Newcastle today for three days before he goes back to Portugal.
"It will give us a chance to have a look at him. We can check him out, see how he is doing and then he can return to Portugal to continue his rehabilitation."
