Hughton: Toon Job Is Not For Me!

Chris Hughton: "I can only concentrate on the role I have at the moment.

"The only aim for me is to put points on the board and make it a better situation for whatever manager comes in.

"Anything else that could happen is out of my control.

"And all I can do is the job to the best of my ability.

"It hasn't been a case of enjoying the job, it has been a case of doing what I am used to.

"And that is being with the players and coming up with strategies to win matches.

"I have to set the team up for Saturday.

"The only difference has been that I now have the final say on team selection.

"The players know that it has been a difficult time.

"But they can't affect what happens away from the training ground.

"The spirit has been good, the players enjoy coming to the training ground and the banter in the changing rooms too.

"We are getting away from what we had last week.

"Maybe it is a help but we know that we have a difficult away game.

"West Ham will be tough, they are an entertaining and offensive side.

"But as I say the spirit is good and we have worked well this week."
