Hughton Confidence Is Just What We Need!

Too often we've heard Newcastle managers play down the team, giving an impression that they have doubts in what the players could achieve.

Graeme Souness and Sam Allardyce (in my opinion) always give that impression, although Sir Bobby and Kevin Keegan were very confident men.

Bobby and KK could lead men out of the trenches, and you would pick up your gun and follow.

Hughton is looking to tonight's game against West Brom with a BELIEF ... (as if to say) "we are the mighty Magpies - bring it on" ... and that is refreshing to hear.

Chris Hughton: "These are the games where you are able to look at your side and evaluate where you are, and the reason why we are where we are at this stage of the season is because we have shown enough quality and we have shown enough determination to be there.

"At this particular stage of the season, the games don't come any bigger than the one on Monday night.

"What we are keen to do is to maintain where we are at this end of the table.

"Any gap we can have between ourselves and whether it be West Brom or Nottingham Forest is always going to be very valuable.

"Forest are arguably the form team in the division. I saw them play last Friday night and it was a result they deserved.

"They are very, very impressive at the moment. There's a lot of energy in the side.

"But it's a long season. The dynamics have changed at the moment, but I expect them to change again."
