"How Do You Solve A Problem Like ... Luque?"

His loan deal to PSV Eindhoven was never going to happen, considering the Dutch side couldn't afford to buy him ... or even pay his wages ... and no side in Spain wants to take a chance on a player who has done nothing at Newcastle apart from pick up inflated wages.

He doesn't want to play for the Reserves, and only lasted ten minutes in one Reserve fixture before tumbling to the ground (allegedly) injured. And Glenn Roeder has made it plain that he won't have the Spaniard knocking on his door wanting sympathy.

Roeder: "After a decision made at the highest levels of both clubs, Albert Luque will not be going to PSV Eindhoven. He has to put PSV out of his mind. I know what it is like when a player sets his heart on joining another club and the move does not happen.

"They become despondent, but I will not accept any despondency around the Newcastle United training ground.

"He has to accept the decision. There is nothing he can do about it and there is nothing I can do about it. Now he has to get his head down and work for this football club."
