Hornets swoop for Chopra

Hornets boss Ray Lewington was delighted with his latest signing, telling the club’s official website: "Michael has scored goals in academy and reserve team football for Newcastle and I am confident he will score goals at our level as well.

"He has tremendous pace with a real eye for goal. I've said publicly that we have to look at our goalscoring problems and in signing Michael I am taking positive action."

Chopra is now likely to play in Watford’s FA Cup semi-final against Southampton on April 13, so at least one member of our squad may experience some of the magic of the cup this season.

With Alan Shearer, Craig Bellamy and Shola Ameobi in good form Sir Bobby was presumably keen for his reserve team star to get some senior experience under his belt, with a strong possibility of him spending the rest of the season at Vicarage Road.
