Well great news for the Toon Army ... the Honey Monster could be heading to St James' Park!

Ex-Newcastle defender hopes his former Manchester City colleague Richard Dunne takes up Keegan's offer and signs in the summer.

Howey: "When I heard Newcastle were interested in signing my old pal the Honey Monster, I got really excited for my old club.

"Make no mistake about it, Richard Dunne is a top player and a great defender and, in my view, just what Kevin and Newcastle need if they are going to challenge the top four again.

"Newcastle have still leaked too many goals this season, and Dunne would soon put a stop to this.

"In fact, it would be a great signing for Newcastle if Kevin can pull it off.

"This fellow is the best. I have played alongside some of the greatest modern-day central defenders in the likes of Tony Adams, Neil Ruddock and Gareth Southgate - and Richard Dunne is up there with the best of them. That's how highly I rate him.

"I know Richard very well. He has matured with age and he has a lovely wife and some great kids - his family and his football are his whole life."
