But the Manchester United defender seems to have put Newcastle United on the back burner, as he says he has a wealth of riches awaiting him when he returns to the Premiership next month ... with a choice of either Liverpool or a new contract at Old Trafford.

He admitted he is "proud" to be linked with Liverpool, but is also excited Carlos Tevez could join him at Manchester United.

His immediate thoughts are on the final showdown with Brazil, despite speculation over his future at Old Trafford.

The defender has also been linked with Juventus and Real Madrid.

Heinz: "The interest in me from important teams such as Liverpool, Juventus and Real Madrid makes me feel proud.

"But I still don't know what I'm going to do in the future and I'm going to start thinking about that after the Copa America.

"I feel comfortable in Manchester and I'm very grateful for everything I've received there.

"It makes me feel very happy that Tevez might come to United. If everything goes okay he will be joining an amazing club.

"If Manchester United want a player it's because they are classy.

"It's the same with Tevez. If United want him it is because he has what it takes to be an important player for them."
