Has O'Neill Finally Got The Hint?

He asked the price Newcastle wanted for the winger ... and he was given an answer.

In this modern world, what can be as simple - this is the price (£10m) - you give us the money?

But the sad little Irish muppet has been back and forth like a jack-rabbit with its tail on fire, offering "five quid and a box of Mars bars" and ridiculous money that wouldn't buy a used car from Boycey off "Only Fools And Horses".

But finally, the annoying little leprechaun seems to have got the message that Newcastle United are sick of him.

Paul Ince is the latest manager to be stuck with him, as the new Blackburn boss says O'Neill has weighed in with a £10m bid for his England right-winger David Bentley.

That is supposedly £7m short, and Spurs are said to be ready to come up with a £17m package which would see Bentley move to White Hart Lane and England keeper Paul Robinson make the switch in the opposite direction.

But Ince had better be warned ... O'Neill will be back like a bad penny!
