Hammers Look At Dyer Alternative

The news that Sam would fight to keep the England international, could have put a spoke in the works, as we hear Freddie Ljungberg is being linked with a move to Upton Park.
Ljungberg says he wants another season at Arsenal, but it is hardly a secret that the Gunners are open to offers.

Allardyce Waiting For The Call From West Ham

We predicted Kieron Dyer was waiting for a call from London ... and today Sam Allardyce expects the same. But will Dyer move on? We STILL believe he will.
The Newcastle manager plans talks with Kieron Dyer after the midfielder was linked with a move to West Ham. And Tottenham are still waiting to see if the player is prepared to move to Capital City ... and if so ... they will go head-to-head with the Hammers.
Allardyce: "I suppose I will have to have a chat with Kieron to see if he thinks there is anything in it and if there is, we will discuss it privately from there.
"But at the moment, there is no bid from West Ham, so until Alan Curbishley rings me or the chief executive rings (chief operating officer) Russell Cushing, then there would be no discussion.
"It has been rumoured in the papers and sometimes there is no smoke without fire.
"But if there's a bid going to come in, I would probably expect a phone call over the weekend because they have lost one of their new players.
"Whether there is some interest there now, I don't know. Kieron Dyer is not a player I would particularly want to lose, but one never knows at this stage of the season what's going to happen."
Dyer Waits For London Bid!

The Journal today claims a "source" close to Kieron Dyer has confirmed the Newcastle midfielder WANTS to stay at St James' Park, but our "source" says the England international is waiting for the call from London!
A source close to Dyer told the Newcastle Journal: "Kieron does not know anything about a move to West Ham, it is not something which concerns him at the moment. There have been stories linking him with a number of clubs this summer, but he is only thinking about Newcastle United.
"Sam Allardyce has made a very good impression and he is happy with his plans for the side. A lot has changed behind the scenes and Kieron is convinced they will have a positive impact on the team's fortunes.
"It is that time of year when players are always being linked with moves, but Kieron expects to be a Newcastle player next season. He is not unhappy."
But I can tell you, Dyer was not a happy bunny on Tuesday evening at Hartlepool and he made no effort at all to hide his displeasure at Toon coach Nigel Pearson ... on the pitch!
He has heard the rumours that Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham are interested, but he waits for the first offer to be slapped on the table ... THEN we'll see how keen he is to stay at Newcastle.
And that first bid will come from West Ham, as they recover from the news that new signing Julien Faubert will miss most of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. An THAT will pave the way for Kieron Dyer to move south.
Tottenham will let the Hammers test the water then they will come forward with a counter-bid.
Faubert, a £6.1million signing from Bordeaux this summer, suffered the injury during a preseason match in Austria.
The Chronicle keep reminding us Dyer has been unhappy at being booed by his own supporters when he played in Newcastle's draw against Watford. And the Hammers are prepared to match his £70,000-a-week wages, which have scared off other clubs who have shown an interest.
