Great News For Bullard

There were doubts about his career after suffering a serious knee injury, but the good news is that he could be back within six to eight weeks.

Bullard was carried off on a stretcher 35 minutes into Fulham 2-1 win at St James' Park with a suspected dislocated knee after a clash with Scott Parker, and was taken straight to hospital.

Fulham boss Chris Coleman: "He is all right, Jimmy. It shook the boys a little bit. To be fair to Scott Parker, he was a bit shaken up himself. It was a fair challenge, there was no malice in it at all.

"Jimmy's foot got planted in the floor and his knee twisted quite badly. But thankfully, the doc ran on quickly and adjusted him and he is all right.

"He has gone off to hospital and he told us after the game he does not think it is going to be one where he is going to be out for a season or anything like that.

"The main thing is we do not think it is going to be a really bad one. But it is a loss for us. Scott came in at half-time and he was obviously moved by it. Credit to him, full respect to him for doing that. It was not his fault, it was a normal challenge."
