He took the dosh - moved onto pastures new (good look to him) - and that should be the end of the story.

He turned his back on us when we were struggling, and now we have a new team with a bright future.

It's a new dawn, and we have new players who will take us to where we are going.

Chris Hughton today ruled out a move for the ex-Newcastle United goalkeeper ... and I think it was the right thing to do.

Given has been told he can leave Eastlands by Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, who went public with his plans to move the former Toon hero on in January.

However, Hughton says he will NOT make any attempt to bring Given in on an emergency loan.

Hughton: “Steve is still being assessed. It’s shoulder ligament damage, but we won’t know until tomorrow.

“But he will be out for more than just weeks. We will have to wait and see.”
