Which is why it was like music to our ears to hear summer signing Geremi say this week "I don't mind where I play for Newcastle".
The Cameroon international was asked to fill a number of different positions over the course of his Chelsea career, including right-back and right midfield.
Geremi Is No Kieron Dyer!
Geremi played in central midfield in Newcastle's 4-1 victory over Celtic on Thursday and was named Man of the Match.
But he insists he has no preference about where he would like to play regularly this season.
Geremi: "That will be the decision of the manager. The most important thing is to be there, and to try to help the team to win.
"I'm a professional and the decision to come here was about playing and enjoying my football.
"As long as I play, I'm happy. For me, I don't care where I play."
