Geremi: "It's important for team spirit and bonding before the start of the season.

"It's a good test for us and it's a trip we're looking forward to.

"The aim for the season is to do better than we did last term and that's why we have been training very hard.

"It was also very nice to be made captain again.

"The gaffer knows me and he knows that I'm experienced.

"I'm glad to be back and it was fine coming straight back into the team.

"The result was disappointing, but the important thing was to get some minutes under our belt.

"It was a good workout, especially because the weather was like it is in Africa.

"I've been working very hard since I came back on Monday, but I'm lucky because I've been playing with my national team and I'm in good shape already.

"I only had three weeks rest and that's why I'm able to come straight back into the team."
