From Sir - To Saint - To Royalty - For Bobby!

The banner at SJP on Saturday said it all - "St Bobby; St Shearer; St James' Park". From knighthood to saint for Bobby Robson, and even more ... a touch of royalty.

Sir Bobby is being commemorated by a special medal commissioned by the Royal Mint.

The honour is normally reserved for members of the Royal Family.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the medal will be donated to the cancer charity he founded.

The Royal Mint hopes the medal will be a fitting tribute for those who wish to remember the career of a great football hero, and those inspired by Sir Bobby's enduring charisma and grace.

The medal features a portrait of the great man, and the reverse lists the clubs he managed or played for, adorned with football scarves.
