French Star Adds Pressure On Roeder

N'Zogbia wants to leave Newcastle in the summer after a row with manager Glenn Roeder, and that only adds fuel to fire because the Gunners are ready to make a £3m swoop in the summer.

Personally I see two ways.

1) Freddy Shepherd is not happy with Newcastle's poor season and has gone public saying "this club should be in the Champions League every season". The fact we won't even make it into the InterToto ... never mind the Champions League ... is a massive blow to the club. And that can only put a question mark over Roeder's future.

Players are set to move out as Roeder says he is preparing to "clull" his squad, but this just looks as though we are facing yet another season of nothingness as the manager rebuilds. We have been "rebuilding" at Newcastle since 1969!

2) N'Zogbia knows Arsenal are interested in him, and Tottenham too, if the rumours are to be believed. So what better time to announce a "fall out with the manager" with just four games of the season remaining?

Shepherd, who is hardly popular with the fans himself these days, has to ask himself one big question to save 2007/8 becoming another washout. Is Roeder the man to challenge the likes of Wenger and Ferguson in the coming years?
