Ferguson Hopes Toon Target 'Turns Up'

Ferguson has refused to sell his star player to any of the top three clubs challenging Man Utd for the title ... Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. And that let in Sam Allardyce, who was reported to have offered £6m for the player.

Although it was not officially reported, Heinze turned down Newcastle, even though Ferguson was ready to accept the offer.

Ferguson: "I hope he turns up - he has been instructed to."

Heinze is the subject of a £6.8million bid from Liverpool but United are refusing to sell the Argentina left-back to their top-flight rivals.

The Premier League are currently examining papers from all sides and are expected to confirm in the next few days they will look into the situation.

And another player who has interested Allardyce in recent weeks, Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre, is reportedly looking for a move away from Old Trafford.

The Frenchman is still hurting after being overlooked for a place in last season's FA Cup final, due to the emergence of left-back Patrice Evra.

Silvestre: "Alex Ferguson knocked on my door at 11am on the morning of the game to tell me I wasn't playing.

"Can you imagine how that felt? He did his best to dress it up saying I hadn't played a lot in the run-up to the game, I was still coming back from injury and he wanted to keep me fresh.

"I didn't want to hear it. I didn't expect to be dropped and it was a huge blow."
Yep ... the man is certainly holding a grudge.
