FA Push Mackem Trouble Under The Carpet!

The police made 29 arrests before and after the derby, as trouble started earlier in the morning as Mackems waited for the Geordies arriving by Metro and train.

Joey Barton was pelted with coins and bottles as he warmed up while an officer from British Transport Police sustained a broken wrist trying to break up trouble.

Police were struck by a firework and Shay Given was approached by two idiots who went onto the pitch after Kieran Richardson's winner.

But an FA spokesman said: "The key issue is to work with the clubs and the police to ensure all of those involved in Saturday's disorder are identified and put through the courts to hopefully receive football banning orders.

"In the last few weeks, there have been some unfortunate incidents. We want to work with clubs and other agencies to ensure that they are not repeated in the future."

As usual ... the FA get it wrong once again!
