FA Cup warning

The Beeb will undoubtedly use footage of a certain game from 1972 as evidence that non-league teams can win matches in the competition.

It’ll be worse than ever this year as an in-form Hereford United have been drawn against Peterborough and could well produce another shock result.

Expect to see Ronnie Radford, complete with a shirt that’s at least three sizes too small for him, rifling the ball home from 25 yards to send our third round replay at Edgar Street into extra-time at least five times.

It always makes me wonder who thought that red kit was a good idea, did Malcolm MacDonald really think that haircut was stylish and why do they never show the annoyingly chirpy Ricky George’s winning goal?

Surely it’s time the BBC dusted off the footage of Sunderland’s defeat at Southern League Yeovil Town in 1949!
