Stephenson, who played alongside Roeder at St James's Park, has been a coach at at the Victoria Ground and will join Roeder and old Geordie mate Lee Clark at Norwich.

Stephenson played 67 games for the Magpies between 1985/88 making his debut in the 2-1 win over Southampton in December 1985 ... a game Glenn Roeder scored the winner.

His one and only goal for the Mags was in the 4-1 thrashing of Sheff Wed in 1986, a game Gazza also scored.

Paul came through the juniors and was a skilful tricky winger who happened to be at Newcastle at the wrong time.

We had John Robertson, Mirandinha and John Hendrie leading the line, and all three could have played in "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" ... and Dave Beasant booting up long balls to them ... with Stephenson wasting his time out wide on the wing.

He learnt his trade from Waddle and Beardsley. Went to Millwall expecting to keep them in the First Division, but things didn't go to plan.
