Faye's agent Willie McKay has confirmed City's interest in the Senegal international who could leave Charlton for around £500,000.

McKay said: "He (Faye) is one of the players Birmingham are looking at. He wants to play in the Premier League and I think Birmingham are going to be alright next season.

"Faye played with Kapo at Auxerre so Birmingham will probably ask him his opinion about Amady and I am sure that will help things."

Started his career at Auxerre. Born 12 March 1977. Defensive midfield player bought from Portsmouth in January 2005 by Graeme Souness, but didn't have a very good first season. He din't score for Newcastle, sitting very deep, probably too deep at times. Souness left and Roeder sold him to Charlton in August 2006.
