Roeder: "It will not fizzle out. There are plenty of points to play for to make sure we have a good finish to the season. The challenge to the players is to try to win the next game. Our next game comes up on Sunday and we know it will be a hell of a battle at Charlton.

"They have got to go down there and do themselves and the club proud and pick up three points."

Nolberto Solano: "There are no excuses, we were not good enough and we have let our great supporters down. Now we have to show we are big men and go out and show what we are capable of. We did not do that in Alkmaar and it cost us a trophy.

"It is so disappointing for us, but we have to pick ourselves up because there are a few games left of the season. We have to try to finish on a high because the end of the season will terrible if we do not get a respectable finish in the table.

"We have already been knocked out of the FA Cup, Carling Cup and now the UEFA Cup, so it is hard for us. The only way we can recover is by sticking together."
