Brian Eastick's team must now beat Greece in their final group game on Sunday and hope the Czech Republic maintain an unbeaten record in Pool B by avoiding defeat against the Italians at the same time.

Eastick can certainly take heart after a much improved performance from their tame loss to the Czechs on Monday but once again failed to find a cutting edge in front of goal.

The absence of injured Carroll and Manchester United man Danny Welbeck is certainly causing Eastick a problem, with Kieran Gibbs coming closest to getting a winner when he struck the bar after just 14 minutes.
