The 18-year-old Toon winger is wanted by Jamaica, the country of his birth, after coming to their attention following some sparkling pre-season displays.

But the FA want the teenager to commit himself to England, where he has lived for most of his life.

Aarons has come from nowhere to force his way into Alan Pardew's first team plans.

He's been handed the No.16 shirt for the new campaign and is set to figure in tomorrow's friendly against Real Sociedad at St James' Park.
