Emre On Course For Euro 2008

Turkey are one of only two international teams that still have a 100% record in qualifying for Euro 2008 (along with Sweden), as they top a group that includes Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Norway, Malta, Hungary and Moldova.

Emre after he sat out Turkey's 4-1 win over Greece at the weekend, but the Toon manager says he would like to see the midfielder gain some match fitness before Newcastle play Manchester City at the weekend.

The Turks face Norway on Wednesday.

Roeder: "I understand that Emre was rested against Greece and they are keeping him for the game against Norway. I hope that he does play because quite simply he needs game to get back to full fitness."

Turkeycannot play home games in their own country because of a UEFA ban, and the Norway fixture is played at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.
