Emre Leaves Newcastle - Official!

The 27-year old missed most of Turkey's heroic Euro 2008 run to the semi-finals due to injury, and although it was common knowledge he was signing for Fenerbahçe ... he did officially represent Newcastle during the competition (something that John Motson failed to pick up on).

He signed for Newcastle from Internazionale and will join the likes of Jon Dahl Tomasson and Dirtmar Hamman as a player with a wealth of talent who never quite showed it at St James' Park.

Having made his name at Galatasaray as a youngster, he is now signing for their bitter rivals.

Emre: "For many years I have tried to represent Turkish football in Europe. I am very happy to have come to Fenerbahçe and I hope I will serve this club for years."
