The Turkish midfielder has been charged by The FA with 'using racially-aggravated abusive and/or insulting words' at Goodison Park, and Glenn Roeder added fuel to the fire by saying "anyone found guilty of racist remarks should be banned for six months".

Emre has challenged the charge and insists he did nothing wrong.

Emre: "I didn't say anything, but I am being painted as a bad boy. If I get a ban, I will quit England. I will walk away.

"I'm not the kind of person I am being made out to be. I can't even speak English that well. I have never had any problems like this with another player in any game and I would never make a racist comment about anyone."

But Emre was involved with a bust up with members of the Reading back-room team as he left the field at half-time at St James' Park back in December. He accused THEM of racist remarks, which had Reading manager Steve Coppell furious.

Coppell answered back to the reports saying it was Emre who provoked the incident.
