Elliott snubs Gregory

Rams boss John Gregory continued his quest to sign everyone who no longer figures in Sir Bobby’s first team plans, by offering Elliott a one-month loan deal with a view to a permanent move to Pride Park.

Sir Bobby agreed to Gregory’s request only for the full back to turn it down, saying: "I told John Gregory and Derby County thanks but no thanks.

"I have been out of the United first team for most of the season but I still think I can do a job here and I want to stay and fight for my place."

Elliott may be in line for a rare first-team appearance at Elland Road on Saturday with Olivier Bernard suspended, but the smart money is on Andy Griffin and Aaron Hughes filling the full back slots.
