Dyer on Woodgate

"He's a great friend of mine and I've been on the phone to him all the time to come," Dyer told The Guardian.

"How funny is that, because two years ago, when there was a lot about Leeds being after me, I had him and Rio Ferdinand on the phone to me saying 'what a club, you should come and join us'.

“Now it's me on the phone saying you should come and join a Champions League club.

"It's good how the roles are reversed. I'm glad I didn't go. We're probably the youngest squad in the Premiership. Woody would take us up another level."

It’s funny that Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale never mentioned that when he complained about Man U players approaching Rio Ferdinand during the World Cup.
