Dyer: "My Big Mistake"

"It's another setback for me," said Dyer. "The strain obviously had not healed quickly enough when I played against Manchester United.
"It was a gamble - but one that I was willing to take. I felt it was a massive gamble at the time, but one that I felt I had to take because of the situation we were in at that time. The manager was under pressure and we were playing against arguably the best team in Europe. I was asked if I was willing to give it a go, and I said I was. Unfortunately for me, it didn't come off.
"In future, maybe I will listen to my head rather than my heart, but like I said, at the time I felt it was one of those gambles worth taking.
"The Fulham game comes to soon for me, I think, and I'm not going to put a time on when I think I will be ready to come back. I'm just going to get the injury sorted out and give it as long as it needs to recover."
