Dragutinovic Move Is Out Of Character For Big Sam

Sam prides himself on "getting the best out of his players" but also insists he has no time for players who don't want to play for their club.

Which has many wondering why he has travelled to Spain to "sell" Newcastle to player who doesn't want to come.

Obviously money is no incentive for the Serb because he would receive a huge pay rise if he moved to St James' Park.

Dragutinovic: "Not everything is about money.

"In a few days, maybe on Wednesday or Thursday, We will make a decision, but I think that I am now closer to staying here."

Newcastle are understood to have agreed a fee of around £2.7m with Sevilla for the player but he obviously doesn't want to come.

At 31 years of age ... do we want him?

It is at this point we border on the ridiculous, because despite accepting the £2.7m bid from the Magpies, Sevilla president José María Del Nido has apparently held talks with Dragutinovic about an extension to his current deal at the club!

The 31-year-old previously played for Belgian club Standard Liège and has helped Sevilla win the UEFA Cup two eyars in succession and the European Super Cup last summer.
