Donaldson and England will kick off the first of three games in the UEFA European U19 Championship with clashes later this week with Bosnia & Herzegovina and Ukraine as the young Three Lions look to book a place in the finals of next summer’s main tournament.
Donaldson will return for pre-season training on July 5 with his Toon team-mates, but Hughton has already confirmed he will be loaned out to gain experience with a Football League club.
