Do Dutch Know About Michael Owen?

Van Gaal was quoted over the weekend as saying he thought that, with the players they have, he was surprised to find that United were not higher in the Premiership table.

Roeder took in the Dutch quarter final to watch AZ play, and before flying to Amsterdam Roeder told the Chronicle: " Louis van Gaal is supposed to be a coach who is thorough in his preparations.

"So if he has said these things I am surprised he has not done his homework and found out just what has been happening with injuries to Newcastle United this season.

"And I wonder if he knows that we have been without Michael Owen for all this season."
