Steven Taylor: "Kevin cares so much. Obviously, it's only natural that he's going to do a lot of work with the forwards, because that's where he played himself, but I tell you what, the defensive work we've done every day since he's come in here has been phenomenal.

"He's drilled it into us: don't take risks.

"If you're not sure, the ball goes in Row Z. Now we're starting to do that. At the beginning of the season, we were trying to play our way out of trouble, but now we know when to play and when not to play.

"The manager keeps reminding us concentration is a massive factor. If we can concentrate for 94, 95 minutes every game and keep clean sheets like we have, we won't go far wrong.

"We know it's been a disappointing season, but the club is now moving forward. The stuff he does in training keeps everybody sharp and bubbling.

"He's brought in Chris Hughton, who has been absolutely fantastic. Every day, basically all we do is back-four work and more back-four work, and we're just getting stuff drilled into us.

"Chris looks after the nitty gritty of the defensive work. We've become a unit and much more solid. We're looking out for each other. If one of us isn't having a good game, we get behind him.

"There's no criticism. We always cover each other's backs, we work hard and make sure we always put in 100%. We've got enough quality in the team to win any game, so it's up to us as a defensive unit to be solid.

"When you've got a keeper like Steve Harper or Shay Given behind you, there's so much more confidence, as well as noise, because they never let you rest.

"It's three clean sheets in a row now and we look at it as something to build on. It's a pity that we couldn't do it at the start of the season, but it just shows how we've developed into a solid unit.

"Playing week in, week out with each other in training has helped. As a defence now, we're coming off the pitch hugely disappointed when we've conceded goals.

"We're taking even more pride in ourselves and our performances and it means that much more to us. For me, keeping a clean sheet is how it must feel to Michael Owen when he scores a goal."

"We're just happy with how things are going and long may it continue. If we do it again today, it will be even better.

"The derby win has lifted everybody, the city, the fans, the players.

"Coming in to training, there's a massive buzz about the place. We can't wait for West Ham now.

"It's a big game, we know that, but we believe we can win there. At the start of the season, maybe we'd have thought that we'd take a point, but not now. No matter what team is put in front of us, we'll believe we can beat them."
