Defeats for Inter and Bayer

Bayer Leverkusen lost 2-1 at home to mid-table Hansa Rostock, with all three goals coming in a six-minute spell shortly before half time.

Rostock’s Togo striker Bachiro Salou put them ahead, before Marko Babic equalized for Bayer only for Salou to clinch the points for the visitors with a second.


Ten-man Inter crashed to a shock 2-1 defeat at Chievo, for whom Eugene Corini converted two first-half penalties.


Christian Vieri scored a consolation for the visitors who had Okan Buruk for dissent in the first half, while Corini completed a busy afternoon by collecting a red card himself.


Raddy Antic claimed his first victory as
Barcelona manager with his side winning 2-0 at local rivals Espanyol, thanks to goals from Phillipe Cocu and Xavi.
