De Jong Doesn't Have A Hope In Hell Of Deal!

He was the joke of the Bundesliga last season - voted "Worst Player" in the German League - and he could find himself with a double, because there can't be many worse in the Premier League this season.

The on-loan striker twisted his ankle in last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City and the injury was this week being assessed by the club’s medical staff.

The 23-year-old, who is on a half-season loan from Borussia Monchengladbach, could miss the last three fixtures ... and I don't think many Geordies will be crying in their beer if he misses out.

De Jong must know he has done NOTHING to earn a permanent move to St James’s Park.

John Gibson (Chronicle) has described the Dutchman as "the worst loan signing Newcastle has ever made".

Although Gazza's mate Paul Moran must hold that distinction back in 1990/1 when he came on a short-term deal from Tottenham.

He went on the drink with Gazza on the Friday night and started the match against Wolves the next day, still pissed!

He missed a sitter from two yards, was substituted at half-time, and he was on the train back to White Hart Lane the next day.

Luuk de Jong: “I twisted my ankle, but I hope it’s not too bad.

“I hope it’s going to be OK.

“I just want to work hard and show the fans what I can do. I hope to be back soon.

“They (Swansea) scored at the end of each half.

“I don’t think we deserved that, but we’re having so much bad luck at the moment.

“I think we were equal to Swansea, and we had opportunities, but we lost the game.”

"We need to talk to each other and work for each other. It’s the only think we can do. We want to win games.”
